I think the background should have there on slot(s) instead of it counting's as in apparel.

I just had this same thought yesterday, especially (and as much as I dislike comparing this site to FR) since getting back into FR and they do just that with their backgrounds. Plus, I'd like them not to stick to the wolf everywhere they go. Like it's one thing for the backgrounds to show up in the pageants, but another for them to be stuck to the wolf like they are carrying around a cardboard cutout in campaign or arena or gauntlet. It's always been such a silly idea for me and I dislike not being able to see my pretty wolves in battle. It's one reason I really don't use backgrounds as pretty as they are.

its soo annoying for me when im trying to customize my wolves and I use a background on them and suddenly I cant add anymore stuff cause there's a background stealing the one extra slot I need!! and if I remove the background it looks weird.(also i swear im 24/7 broke in ms so I can never afford an expansion.)

Hmm...I'm not sure about this. I've seen people do some excellent work with backgrounds by layering them on top of each other. A single slot won't it justice, I feel. If it were a couple, then it would be full support from me.

I'm really on the fence about this lol

It would be nice to have a background slot, but I actually like seeing the backgrounds show up in the campaign and gauntlet and arena and things. Plus, what about CA backgrounds? Would those fit in the slot too, or would they still chase the wolves around the place?

but yeah overall I can get over myself this is a good idea and I support it, though I agree with Fangs that it should have more than one slot

@Silvershadow i think that if they did go through with this idea, then anything that was label background would go into the background slot.

Especially since a lot of CA that I have noticed is labeled "background" aren't backgrounds. Like animal companions, flower cascades, etc. We'd need a "foreground" tag for CA and have those all moved over, and that might be a bunch of work. There would definitely need to be multiple "background" slots if nothing else.

Support! I think this makes sense for site backgrounds, and if CAs (regardless of if they’re labeled as backgrounds or not) remain consistent with normal apparel it wouldn’t cause any issues with layering imo

The site backgrounds can’t layer with each other anyway, since they inherently take up the full space so they would cover each other up, so it wouldn’t limit creativity in that way 🥰
