HII an inside joke between me and my partner the other night made me remember this site exists and i'm so surprised to see the active player count so low! from what i can tell, nothing bad here happened, so how come it's so low population? lorwolf is so neat to me!! i got early access and everything to it! i dunno how it doesn't have more players at the moment, really. D:

i love all of the little tasks to keep yourself busy with, the lore and the fact that your wolves can be any color no matter how silly. i am still glad there seems to be an small but active playerbase but wow!! it feels like our own lil' hidden gem. what keeps you guys here? genuine question!! i'm thinking about getting stuff rolling again cuz i miss my two or three special wolves and wanna know if there's still any longevity to sticking around!!

TBH, I think it's lack of updates. We have new companions and apparel, but we're getting them 4 times a year for the Seasonal events vs weekly or biweekly from other competing sites. 😅 LW gameplay is slow, especially at the higher levels, so if you aren't totally head-over-heels-in-LOVE with the grind, I can see why it would be tough to stick around long-term between the updates!

As a casual player, there is more than enough content to keep you busy. I'm sure there are people who want to "main" the game and are disappointed that the content is not as regular as larger sites. But as a gamer who rotates through new game releases, I enjoy that I can keep up with the game and never feel pressured to log in to play a weekly event or feel fomo for not playing enough. Just enjoy the game and the community, and if you want more, set up some goals like collecting and leveling all the companions (my companion level is 1724)!

I felt this way too. I made an account forever ago but only started playing a few days ago, and I was surprised there wasnt more players. I'm kinda picky about pet sites and this one is the only one I have found lately that ticks all my boxes at least decently well. Its funny people dont find much to do, since flightrising is hugely popular and imo has way less to do than here, even if it gets new breeds and apparal a lot just bc their minigames are lacking and their battle is so poorly balanced its unusable. I really like that there is a campaign with quests here, and lots of little side things you can send wolves to do and check on later, which im using to help get me off social media since I have somethine else I can check on my phone throught the day. I do wish the battle wasnt automatic since I like stratigizing, but that does at least help it avoid being tedious like some petsites battle. Wolvden is another site which has lots to do, but your wolves DIE and you have to feed them so having more can be bad, which makes it feel more like a survival game rather than a breeding and collection game. I really like this sites focus on breeding, the relaxed gameplay where pets do not die and you arent punished for not logging in, and the amount of things to do which maybe arent always like Super Exciting but they tend to be at least somewhat fun or something you can check on casually. I havent found another petsite anywhere right now with all three of these things, so its bizzare to me that this place is a ghost town compared to other sites which lack those key features i look for. I mean ik everyone has different tastes but i would think there would be more ppl really hurting for a game like this like i was

God I love to see so many people here just loving the framework of this game 🥹 I love it so much, and I have so many plans still and love that there's an element of grind involved so I can't rush through my goals too quickly. Also, since I love to be a completionist and also dress my dogs so much, I think I would get overwhelmed with weekly or maybe even monthly updates, because I wouldn't ever want to miss out on anything hahaha (also as an amateur CA artist all I can say is thank god there's only 7 breeds right now because it still takes me forever to get even basic CA to work on all 14 poses 😭)

I feel like I go through phases with Lorwolf - sometimes I have so many ideas I can't get them out on paper fast enough, sometimes I spend an entire evening dressing a single wolf and I don't even interact with the rest of the game, sometimes I'm so invested in the forums that I forget to do my activities.... and sometimes I'm busy or tired or whatever and I only do my dailies and leave LW on the back burner for a couple weeks 🤷‍♀️ I'm just glad as a classic ADHD-er this is one hobby that manages to burn bright and fast but never fully burns out for me 🤣💖 (stares blankly at my unused sewing machine, fifty dead plants, half-finished needle-felting project, collection of unread books, ...)

Oh ALSO if you haven't checked out the achievements, those were released a while back so I forget they might be new to returnees! They're a fun goal to strive for but also they reward exclusive craftable apparel (Some of my fav apparel tbh), exclusive companions, and pebbles/moonstones, among other prizes as you advance 🥰 So definitely give those a looksie! (You'll have to check back in on your own routinely, as you won't receive any notification when you complete an achievement and you have to manually go collect the rewards).

Thanks for the information guys, both about the game and its history. Its too bad so many people left, (mainly for hunting specific wolf colors on market, tbh) but I agree the smaller community is kinda cozy. Ive seen some of the same people pop up in several places and it really feels like I could get to know people and make friends, something I struggle to do on larger sites where its easy to get lost in the crowd.
