New here, just thought I'd say hi!

I joined after getting annoyed with Flight Rising the other day and thought I'd try this one out, I love it here so far! Most of the activities seem much more my speed. I wish there was more to the campaign, but I can go do campaigns in other areas if I get bored I guess lol

I've only just started getting into Flight Rising a little bit, and while there are some things that I really like (omg I can't wait for LW to give us vaults now haha), it honestly makes me appreciate Lorwolf soooo much more now that I have a comparison point 😊
There is storyline in all the campaign areas, and you don't have to be in the other packs to explore there, so definitely check all of them out!

Afterwards, the campaign is pretty close to Coli in that you're more grinding for drops, to level up wolves, or for Wild Wolves (G1s) than for the plot. It is a fun launchpoint for some people to use for their clan's own lore though... We're also still waiting on Chapter 2, which will bring some campaign updates when it drops ✨

Honestly, I do find coli to be the most fun thing about FR, but it's also annoying sometimes and I really like the explore functionality here!

I do love that Lorwolf has enough for me to be active on-site almost all day (just going profession to profession or exploring) but the only punishment for being too busy to play is opportunity-cost (missing out on weekly event tickets, or seasonal event tickets, or just chance to get extra progress towards achievements or something). Even the seasonal events seem less punishing to me, since you get a full month plus almost everything returns each year, and the things that don't (the 2 new companions each season + one colorway of the new apparel set) are only soft-retired (they are available via "lootboxes" during the seasonal event). I've never been concerned with whether the stuff I own is exclusive or not, I just want to have enough to be able to dress my wolves how I want 😂 so that is definitely more my playstyle haha.

We don't have any updates on when but I can share what the release will include when it does release. Lorwolf had a bit of site drama between the devs, mods, ex-mods, and some vocal users, and everything sort of got put on pause after that. We did receive word earlier this year that updates are still in the works even when no one is explicitly communicating about that progress.

I remain ever optimistic (jokingly every time we have lag or internet issues, my pals and I say "what if this is the surprise Chapter 2 drop" every time), but prepare to be patient and satisfied with the site as it exists now (plus new apparel with each seasonal event, so 4 times a year, and a few background quiet bug fixes). Custom Apparels are also a much bigger part of Lorwolf than my understanding of FR so far, so there's a lot of new stuff coming in that way and via community-run forum events.

If you haven't checked out your Achievements under your Den tab, definitely do so! There are lots of rewards early on, but you have to collect them manually from the Achievement page. ^^

FR was my first pet site but I dropped it like a hot potato when I started LW. There isn't as much apparel, but the professions and activities are right up my alley. I like that the wolves only eat food when they are actively doing stuff. Much kinder than FR's empty stomachs dragons. lol

Hello and welcome to LW! I am also a former FR user that migrated over to LW! FR was just too fast for me to keep up with anymore, and LW has a much slower pace that I enjoy far more. In addition, the way the activity bar loops you through the professions is very satisfying. I love clicking my buttons!

@lalierre Thank you for the info! In the meantime I'm sure I'll be plenty entertained with what's available! I haven't looked at seasonal stuff or apparel much at all, I'll have to start checking that out! I used to dress all of my dragons, but fell out of doing that, maybe it'll be more interesting here lol

@spoot has a great guide to apparel though, and we’ve also created a tool to let you preview any site apparel and many many CAs on your wolves, so definitely check those out once you get to apparel mania 😂 The tool is a little clunky on mobile but super easy on desktop, so I’m always happy to help if you comment on that thread — and maybe eventually they’ll integrate a wardrobe feature into the demo to make it obsolete (a girl can dream).

@Reave I've definitely seen some of those complaints before, and I think every site has its problems. I appreciate the un-sugarcoated opinion for sure! And thanks for the info, I haven't looked at pairing companions really yet. I forget to play with familiars on FR, so I'm sure I'll be doing the same here lol
