It would be nice, wouldn't it! We just keep on askin' for them to not just let the place rot and we get nothin'. I wish they'd just sell it, since they clearly don't enjoy the reality of running a pet sim, whose genre requires frequent small updates to survive & skin thick enough to realize that you don't get balancing passes right on the first go & that's ok, just keep tweaking.
I don't think we'll get it, though; we know the site can't pay for itself for a long time now (and probably hasn't been self-sustaining since the Second Silence tbh), we know the devs aren't interested in even the softest-handed feedback (not even critique, necessarily, even just neutral feedback and/or suggestions at all), and now we still have Halloween stuff in the mole market in mid-Jan and no event update for the 4 ~whole entire~ minimal art updates the site was getting a year. I have genuinely no idea if Quiche is still the one approving CA content in the background despite having stepped down as head mod ages ago, or if it's someone else entirely at this point.
I'm gonna ride it 'til the wheels fall off regardless, I've always said that~ My only wish at this point is for more of the community to stop pretending that the devs even want anything to do with this place and stop defending that for them. There is nobody listening to get brownie points from, and you're setting up any new peeps that come aboard for failure, which will make them leave all the faster than they already do. >:P Just let us be honest about the state of the place to the new kids without pretending user run events are the same thing as the site having legitimate updates.
The user run events are beautifully handled and lovely to see! But they can't replace the site getting actual content updates. New players can tell the difference, even if not immediately, and it has made the ones I've talked to and helped out resent this place a lot more than most of the people I know that left after the first big couple of silences.

As a retrospective, I hope someone takes what works about the gameplay loops here, which are genuinely good but in need of some polish from folks with actual gameplay dev experience and not just a Fun Idea & a Kickstarter account, and makes a game that lasts as long as Flight Rising has. The Petsim community is in a real dire need of someone that understands it & how to run an actual business at the same time, lol.
