This is the badge of the Warriors of the Dawn, a mysterious five-wolf band I've been working on since the first of October (in site time!).
Basically, back during the 2025 Darkspine Seasonal, well... the very first day of the Seasonal, I got jumpscared by my first campaign Wild Wolf, Pleiade. I marvelled at that, for a bit, was proud of my very first campaign Wild Wolf, and then moved on.
And then, during 2026's Icerun Seasonal, on the FINAL day... IT HAPPENED AGAIN! Now I had Capella with me, and I was starting to sense a pattern.
It was at this point I came up with the idea of the Warriors of the Dawn (although I am unsure of when the term was first coined); every Seasonal, I would collect a Wild Wolf that would be a Warrior of the Dawn for the pack whose Seasonal it was. And, of course, it had to be in one of the Seasonal pack's locations. Well... until Goldsea came around, where the Warriors of the Dawn would be officially complete and I'd share them.
It is important to note that, at this point, the WotD would only have four members, one per pack. The fifth (or third, in terms of collecting), Centauri, came about during Daug Haus. I wondered if she could be the leader of the WotD, thought it sounded good, and there we went! With her also came the beginning of the WotD lore, which has (so far) been kept the same- the Warriors of the Dawn formed to fight against the Consumed, but after an incident, they disbanded and split to various regions, where they used various methods to keep them alive through a long, long hibernation... until, one day, all five were awakened and gathered to fight against a major Consumed threat. Afterwards, they went their separate ways once again, where Vega would proceed to chronicle their old journeys. And yes, I did plan out names beforehand. Had a theme to keep.
2026 Murkwood rolled around, and I'm sure you can guess what happened: Nemesis arrived, on Easter of all days! Funnily enough, on the same day (in Lorwolf terms, for me it was another day), I got another wolf, who'll probably be sold off or used in an event eventually.
And last but certainly not least was Vega from this very Seasonal! If you were in the Loria United guild, you might've caught me being very annoyed at constantly failing WW encounters... he was why! Towards the end, I was starting to get desperate, since the Seasonal was ending soon and if I didn't get Vega now I'd have to wait a YEAR, but I eventually got him while training Capella to level 10! Chronicled my failed WW encounters for him... 19 (or so, I kept losing track) before the Guild update and subsequent WW-talent-buy, 10 afterwards, with me getting him on my 11th post-Guild.
Anyways, here they all are, lined up! I hope you enjoyed this little rambling about the WotD and everything surrounding them... I've been thinking about possibly doing a monthly comic or short story focusing around their adventures.
