any other way to get mining exp...?

I still have TWO ENTIRE LEVELS to go before I can get to lorium land and out of the copper zone, and I don't know if my heart can take any more tedious back-and-forth mining and smelting especially since it is still slow as heck even though I bought every. single. expansion. I'm losing my mind people, help me

Different ores / gems give different amounts of XP, so I started to drop the cheaper ores like copper and focused on the ores that gave more XP, and the gems. Since wheels give out so fast, it's the best way I've felt to make the most of my wheels. purplepleb also has a thread here that gives out better pickaxes / wheels that will definetly make things go much faster!

I was thinking you could get mining experience... at least a little... from the Mining encounter in Barboa Slough while Exploring in Campaign. However, after just testing it... I only got bars, and no experience. So no luck there. But yes, dropping lower-grade ores is a huge help. Hopefully they implement a more convenient way to do that at some point!
