Yes please! This would make life so much easier. Having a section to know what items are used for (also helps for finding complex recipes) and where you can find them would be wonderful. I am also very spoiled by the FR database.
Found another reason for this: The code for items uses the item ID, which currently cannot be found by any means other than trying each individual number until you find what you want or run out of numbers. We have a guide for this, which is great, but if this is going to be tied to the ability to use a certain code, we desperately need a better way to get those IDs.
I find the database in FR super useful for a lot of different things, I'd love to see something like that here! The one in FR even has a comments section so players can put down useful information that may not be on there originally. That's particularly useful for knowing what has many versions, when things were released, changes that were made to keep track of site history, helpful links to builds involving particular battle items (or in this case it would be the companions), and skin/accent makers will sometimes leave notes on their skins/accents on the availability of them.
Though a simple database with a search function would still be extremely useful!
Support! I was looking for a thread to see if anyone suggested this already, because if there wasn't, I would've suggested it myself. I would love to see a database of items, especially if I just want to quickly see if this item is used for something (and if so, what specifically), how to get certain items, what apparel options I have for dressing up my wolves (I swear new apparel keeps popping up everywhere!) etc.
Massive support. With the amount of items in-game ever increasing, and the multitude of places to obtain them and use them for, a database is a must-have imho. So threads in the Questions and Help forum are about where to find certain items.
Support! This is currently my biggest want on the site. Item databases are extremely useful for seeing what items you have yet to collect, what items you can get from where, etc. Or maybe have databases unique to each user if the devs want us to explore and find things ourselves? I.E., we each start with a blacked out database/encyclopedia and we unlock or reveal the entries within as we discover items on the site? I'd prefer just a standard database to easily check and see where everything is, but I'd also accept something we have to work towards at this point, pfft-
Bumping this! Constantly seeking how to obtain certain items from various professions and via companion play and conbat drops. Sure, I can check every companion page but would be lovely to have a reverse lookup option via a database. Unfotunately the fan wiki also isn't entirely fleshed out on this and the lack definitely makes the game just a touch more tedious to play.
(If this has been implemented by now and I'm being blind someone please just ping me with the pathway lol)
An item database would be so useful!!! It's hard knowing where to get specific items I need and hard to know if items I've gotten from site activities are useful for something or if I can just vendor sell them. Would also love if it included sections for listing all the crafting and cooking recipes and what is needed to make them!
