Lorwolf game-loop advice?

Hello, very new player here. Just trying to figure out the best way to splay this game as the tutorials aren't too helpful and the energy regeneration seems very long (4 hours?!) when you use it almost instantly in every activity.

I know you can refill with food but I'm quickly running out of food without regaining more than what I spent. I still haven't levelled up once since everything is stronger than I and I get no XP off of defeats.

If you play thru the campaign enough to unlock the second area of a territory, you'll want to grind there! There are tons of food encounters vs enemy encounters, and food adds up very quickly. Much of it doesn't need to be cooked either, so you can feed it right away. Exploring on its own will yield XP - you don't need to be defeating enemies.

Have you used your moonwater?

Once you get your stamina up, I'd focus on fishing first, in order to buildup a decent stack of food that you can cook.
