I was talking about this with a friend earlier and can't recall if there's an official answer. I'd like to say that they do like the cats in Pixel Cats' End because otherwise them having crafting and clothes and tools and such makes no sense.
As someone who follows a dog comic where they have weapons/armour/whatnot and they don't seem to use their paws often for such things, this didn't cross my mind at all |D But it makes sense if they do.

A lot of the thumb-y tasks (crafting, cooking) are taken care of by NPCs, which suggests maybe not. I'm just kind of letting it be vague lorewise, though, and that seems like what the site is doing as well.
@monarch I found something about the wolves in the roleplay section Skimmed through it quickly; nothing is written about them having opposable thumbs. Ehh.. So yeah, maybe the NPC's just help with the crafting.
HOWEVER, in the mining profession, lorwolves go out by themselves into the mine + gather the ore. So, maybe, they have some capabilities to do those things?
From what I've played of the various campaign storylines, the characters sure do a lot of stuff that would sure be easiest with opposable thumbs. Reading books, capturing critters in jars, baking cookies, blowing horns, etc. I found some of it hard to visualize lol.
