As someone who is very happy to spend their IRL money on pet-sim sites… I agree. I think premium currency shouldn't be for a core game play mechanic.

The thing about moonstone expansions is, they put strain on a different currency- food. If you can't afford to pay the moonstones for a bigger minecart, you're spending more food per ingot than somebody with a bigger cart (because afaik, expanding the cart doesn't make it cost more food points to push either way). If you can't afford the moonstones for a bigger cooking pot, it's a lot harder to keep up the food to continue playing features- at least, if you want to do anything but toodle around in the first sword areas grinding nothing but food points. That's not as fun as trying to get crafting mats/WWs, but it's what you have to do (and no, farming doesn't quite make up for this, because it's time-gated; at least at the levels I'm at, you can't farm enough stuff to keep going until the next batch is done, not quite).

Maybe I've horribly mangled my builds for stuff, I've done that in the past before. Right now, though, it really feels like a “if you are not willing to give us real money, go jump in a lake” situation, though… which is a shame because I want to like the site but haven't real money to give atm.

(Editing to add- I'm fully aware that the site needs to make money to stay afloat, and I think that if Moonstones are something you can afford, it's 100% a good thing to buy! I just think that locking gameplay behind a paywall is much scummier than locking aesthetic items behind a paywall, that's all.)

Full, absolute, 100% support!!! It was already a bit odd to me when I first saw that expansions (which are core gameplay features for at least some professions and definitely not just convenient) cost premium currency, but knowing they used to be pebbles and then were changed just feels... really bad. It really feels like a money grab/very pay-to-win, plus just makes pebbles largely useless and moonstones way too important for a lot of things. Please please please change expansions back to pebbles, at least for the first few expansions even if later ones maybe stay as moonstones, it's really necessary.

Complete support on this one. The site absolutely needs money to stay afloat, but Flight Rising doesn't lock expansions and gameplay behind premium paywalls at ALL and I know a lot of people who sink money into that site (myself included), and I suspect that a ton of money will be made from people purchasing custom apparel tokens.

I also think that this isn't something that will work for Lorwolf in the long run, because encountering premium paywalls that make it otherwise difficult to set long-term goals can really put a damper on people's interest in gameplay.

Lorwolf seems to be generating a lot of interest because I think it's hitting that sweet spot of the promise of customization flexibility with user-made apparel (like Dappervolk promised) paired with the enjoyment/excitement of breeding for different colored animals with genes and RNG color opportunities (like Flight Rising). I would hate to see too many pay-to-win elements shoot the promise of a cool site in the foot.

Support at least for the earlier ones. I wouldn't mind if the last one or two is MS (though I'd prefer just all pebbles), but the first 1-2 should be pebbles at the very least.
