As far as I can tell (and correct me if I'm wrong), in order to set a wolf as your avatar, you have to make said wolf your den leader. That seems silly to me. Someone might have a wolf they want to show off but don't necessarily want to make their leader for, say, lore purposes. It also means we can't make puppies our avatars. I don't see why we can't set any wolf we own as our avatar.

The only thing the leader slot does mechanically is make it your profile picture, as far as I’m aware. Unless there’s some other use I’m missing, no support. I quite like having an indicator that it’s the wolf you have as your profile picture.

As I mentioned, someone might not want their wolf listed as the den leader for lore purposes. It's a small indicator on the page, yes, but things like that do bother people (myself included), just as people might not like having, say, unnamed offspring on the page. Plus, you can't make a puppy your den leader, meaning you couldn't have a puppy as your avatar if you wanted to.

I agree here. It does bother some people for lore purposes, and some people might want puppy profile pictures.

Because the lead wolf doesn't do anything else, if the profile picture is separate from the lead wolf, I think they might as well do away with lead wolves, and just let us select the wolf for our pfp in the account settings or something.

Full support. The only thing the 'lead wolf' role does at this point is just kind of... Exist. I agree with Gaia in that 'lead wolves' should just be done away with entirely if not just separate from your pfp.

I made a somewhat similar suggestion here, but basically I feel that the correct way to set a profile picture should be through account settings with the other forum appearance settings, and not in something lore related feeling like on a wolf's page as lead wolf.

Yeah I don't really... get... the lead wolf thing. If all it does is change your avatar wolf, shouldn't it just be called that and allow for pups?

I'm kind of assuming there'll be more to it later on, but I support allowing for any wolf to be your avatar, lead wolf or adult or not.

Support, this was something I thought about a lot during EA and I still think about it often now. My icon wolf is not the leader of a pack, he doesn't even have a pack. But, I feel that people will make assumptions about my lore based on the fact that he's marked as the leader and he's my first progen

@Tserin (sorry if you didn't want to be pinged for this!) It's not necesarily that there is more to lead wolves in the future (although, who knows! Maybe they'll think of something), but rather that it is a remnant of the past (wow that sounds dramatic). Back in beta you needed your lead wolf to be part of your campaign and gauntlet party. So there was a use to it back then. But people didn't like having to constantly switch a. their lead wolf and b. their pfp for the optimal team build, leveling, etc. so they removed the feature of needing to have you lead wolf in your party from the game. Just a little FYI that might be interesting to know
