Playing arena, I realized that the orthus companions have the same synergies as the holiday snowcat. I would love to see a way to get those synergies in a way that’s not exclusive, or limited considering companions are vital to a few playstyles.

They are sought after by those who collect, they are useful for those who are looking to use them in hunting, and those who play the gauntlet. A certain type of synergy shouldn’t be exclusive, especially when users have been asking to make them available specifically for game play.

Maybe they could be summoned by baking a dog treat, in the same way the Kapros is. Maybe they could be a rarer encounter like the WW encounters are? They certainly need another way to get them. I certainly don’t mind if they do take awhile to get! I don’t mind working for them! I’d prefer it. They just shouldn’t be limited like the KS companion is.

Not everyone has that level of social media reach. It also does not say the cat will be part of giveaways on site. If it’s a Discord exclusive, you still exclude a good portion of the site, which is its own issue.

I also would not say I have "reach" I just post my link to gaming servers on Discord and easily accumulate people who want to play, the referral feature is intended that you recruit people to play the game...it's a concept that's been around for quite a while in many games. You say not everyone can do this activity, well plenty of people can't do other activities on the site, too and are therefore cut off from those exclusive items, are they not ?

They are not! You can buy those items form others. These referral companions can’t be bought since they are soulbound.

Not everyone follows the official twitter either. Most referral rewards in other games are also generally obtainable through gameplay as well.

Basically I’m just asking to make those companions not referral exclusives. Will it be easier for some to go that route? Sure! But there should be an option to obtain them through normal gameplay.

Edit- All other parts if the game are actually available to users. The professions are the game, not advertising. No one is barred from the professions, and the professions don’t have soulbound items.

Considering the direction Twitter is going I hope the devs utilize something like the poll system for future giveaways so they can stay on site, but that's neither here nor there.

Having another Kapros situation would be interesting! I haven't gotten that myself but I like the concept of it.

I would say add the referral companions in upcoming achievement system as an alternative way to have them is great. Something like having x amount of friends and y lv of companion lv to be able to claim them so it still requierd some work to get like referral system and not that easy to get

I disliked the exclusive referral reward from the beginning, it has the potential to encourage some pretty bad behaviors (multi accouting, spamming on other websites, for instance) and seemed pretty unfair towards less social people. They should be optainable in-game and the referral option should just be the “easier” option.

I will also echo the concerns about using Twitter for giveaways going forward. I’m not 100% sure if they will be sticking around considering everything going on there. One winner a year also still makes that companion extremely inaccessible to most people, unless that’s a participation prize and there’s also something bigger.

I kinda of like the idea of them also being earned through achievements. Maybe number of friends and number of forum posts? Even those who aren’t as social could still use the forums for sales and get there eventually through normal play.

Also, as a personal note, I don't have a personal reason to advertise Lorwolf beyond mentioning it to friends cause I want to game with them. I have opportunities to advertise, but the gameplay and QoL of various subjects is not at a level I want to actively advertise Lorwolf for. Yes, I like the game and will support it (activity and financial based), but unfortunately I fear with the current QoL and completed work, most people I know would stop within the first few weeks. I don't want to refer if someone stops after a few weeks. I want to refer with confidence I'll have people willing to support Lorwolf long-term by activity, subscription, or otherwise (frequent purchases).
