So, a random thought I've been having about the Pageant. There was a period when the site first opened when people were talking about cheesing The Pageant by voting for "uglier" wolves so their wolves would win. I thought that was pretty ridiculous and poor spirited. However, I was thinking if others were encouraged to do that or if that was the default thinking, wouldn't that backfire? Because everyone is voting for the "ugly" wolves and the intended outcome doesn't fruit anymore.

Probably saying the quiet part out loud here, but I was also curious if I was the only one genuinely voting in pageants anymore.

And I've seen people talking about having naked wolves winning seemingly randomly which might be this line of thinking playing out in real time.

(And just an aside, I don't think anyone's wolves are ugly. I just mean the least likely to win wolves. Aren't dressed up and clashing colors types.)

I’ve heard of this too but I don’t do it. I vote for wolves that I think are the prettiest.

And I’ve got 11 of each medal (somehow lol) so I can’t be the only one. I put my best wolves in the pageant when I do it and I often place.

I "cheese" pageant voting by voting for new players' wolves. I know that pageant achievement takes time! ^^ But once I have any newbies in my pageant out of the way, I vote simply by favorites. Sometimes wolves are chosen by a great name or fun layering, or a theme. I really liked it when everyone's wolves were rainbow colored in June/spooky around Halloween/etc etc etc.

Not the same thing, but I know some people also talked about purposefully voting for wolves with no custom apparel, no apparel, new player's wolves, or any other 'underdog' systems in general, though. This might be why some naked and less desirable wolves keep winning, but it could also just be different people's preferences. I can understand the thought process behind some of them but I don't usually do that. I do sometimes purposefully prioritise non-custom apparel wolves but it's always by my own system first.

I generally go for the ones I like the best, and then the most cohesive/matchy or well thought out, and by the end I've run out of "great" (IMO) wolves to vote for so I usually end up voting for the most interesting pattern and colour combos that I can find.

I've learned by playing with friends that you are grouped into pageants by time -- so if you join at the same time, you're more likely to be together.
