Wow. I can't believe I finally hit this milestone, but I managed to reach Level 99 in one of the professions! Crafting, to be specific:

It was a long journey with a lot of number crunching and comparing XP yields, material costs, and time spent crafting, but I got there.

@moondafox - I'm sorry, but this isn't the place to ask for that.

You can easily get the item in under a month just from daily play by collecting moonstone shards from the different professions and crafting moonstones. You can mine a lot of them if you drop lower-level ore and wait for some shard ore to spawn in your cart. Just be patient. You an also get some shards from fighting in the Gauntlet.

@spoot - you know, I'm almost worried that maybe in the future it will increase to some bonkers level like 199 or 200 or something. . . And I will weep. BUT, I doubt that they will. It seems that 99 is the intended permacap based on how it's set up!
