Writing Wolvesday #8 [CLOSED]

Inspired by Flight Rising's Lore Whining Days, sometimes it takes a little extra push to get some words down on paper. The purpose of Writing Wolvesday is to help encourage us all to try and get just a few more keystrokes in on whatever it is we are supposed to be working on, whether that be a wolf's profile, a roleplay we are a part of, or a story. We will be gathering every first and third Wednesday of the month to lament the difficulties of sitting down and actually stringing words together and / or seizing the sudden inspiration that strikes us fancy.

Everyone is free to participate in Writing Wolvesday! Even if you don't want to post your writing, come chat with us about the woes of the written word.

Please feel free to be added to the pinglist whenever we post our newest Writing Wolvesday thread!

Welcome to another Writing Wolvesday! I hope those that celebrate American Thanksgiving had a good time and delicious food. The winter holidays have crept up on us quite quickly, and with them comes the Icerun Seasonal Event. Have people started thinking about what they're planning on doing for the Seasonal, if anything at all?

I know I have gotten a lot of wolves dressed and named since I've sat down to write! The lore of my den is starting to get more fleshed out, and I am feeling the writing bug creeping up again...

Well! For the Seasonal, I'm planning on getting a bunch of different apparel sets for a few wolves that need it...

Also I did write this Arcturus monologue, since I know for a fact that this month will be Polaris/Starkin Lore Month for me!

"Well...

"Wishes are weighty things.

"It is the stars' duty to take care of them, along with hopes and fears and dreams; other weighty things, of course, but wishes are the worst.

"And wishes, along with other such things, are to be spread amongst the stars.

"This is not always the case, and wishes often pile up on a few stars.

"And when enough wishes and other such things find themselves attached to a single star, they drag the star down from the heavens in a streak of light and magic.

"And when magic and wishes and hopes and fears and dreams and stardust collide with the land and the burning fire of a fall, something new is created.

"They look like wolves, y'know? But they're not. We're not.

"We are Starkin, and we. Aren't. Wolves. We aren't even natural, just a miscellaneous collection of powerful things merged by flame.

"Hah.

"None of us know what happens if a falling star collides with a wolf, though.

"And we are lucky, for it has never happened."

-"What do you think would happen if it did, though?"

"I don't know. Would the consciousness of the star override that of the wolf? Or would both coexist? Or would the star's thoughts and memories simply merge into the wolf's?"

-Stay silent.

Today I'll be doing another check of The Howler before posting and then working on some other forum ideas. I have a lot of typ-tappying to do the next few days. I also need to get back to dear Jelly and her brothers. Taking a few weeks off for Thanksgiving put me so far behind on my stuff. 😂

I've been thinking I need to write a bit about my "Touched" concept. Basically, it's like a blessing from Elius' while unborn. I really just wanted a lore reason for everyone having bird features. lmao Elius has wings, so that's my only correlation. ha
