Stock the Forest

This is a group project inspired by Flight Rising's "Stock the Pond."

The concept is to breed together two wolves with colors not very close to each other in order to get more unique offspring.

The Goal

Broaden our current color scope of wolves available on the site
Get more unique puppies on to the Flea Market
Have fun!

How

Pick two wolves you already have with colors pretty far apart. This would be a great use for those random WW you have lying about your den. Do not have to be Wild Wolves.
Breed them!
Show us the results and/or list on the FM for fodder prices. (1-5kp) The goal is to make the puppies available to those who may want them. So this part is pretty important! We have no way of searching the site for wolves that may be laying about in someone's den.

I will make a post shortly giving away a few pairs of WW to get some people started!

you can override the link to show any wolf you want from viewing one of your wolves. just change the wolf id in the link to the corresponding wolf you want, and it'll show. but it isn't really easy, you need to know what the wolf you want is beforehand and then search through the demo to see if it exists. if it was yeeted, oh no. if it wasn't, eh. the user it belongs to could be deadd

I have a guidelines proposal after trying to put some pairs together myself. lol

There are 5 columns of colors here. 1-5 for pairing purposes.

You want at least one column between two colors on each slot (Base, Top, Under, Accent).

However, it can be hard getting all four colors that far apart.

So, if you have at least 3 colors two columns apart, that should still give you enough chaos.

Example:

Wolf 1

Base: Universe

Universe is in the 2nd column.

Assign it #2

Top: Blush

Blush is in the 5th column.

Assign it #5

Under: Mauve

Mauve is in the 5th column.

Assign it #5

Accent: Green

Green is in the 2nd column.

Assign it #2

Wolf 2

Base: Hibiscus

Hibiscus is in the 4th column

Assign it #4

Top: Artichoke

Artichoke is in the 2nd column

Assign it #2

Under: Cream

Cream is in the 3rd column

Assign it #3

Accent: Elm

Elm is in the 4th column

Assign it #4

Once you have your numbers, compare the two wolves to make sure they are 2 numbers apart in a loop because it's a wheel. So you count: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, looping

You're good to breed these two example wolves together.

I have a fodder pair, Cyte x Bastion that are fairly far apart, but not as far as the list. Cyte is 4x Sand, Bastion is 4x Cream, they run the gamut of all the interesting pseudo-natural yellow/brown/silty colors and have a lot of random kids, about half and half uggo and cute. They are my widest fodder pair, and their kids are usually priced that way unless they get something pretty cute.

I just use them for personal fodder or to release for tickets during the holidays, but if the project here is intending on having a place to list what's available for sale I wouldn't be opposed to using it for that pair to give people more visible access to asking for them. They are usually listed on the FM as "curs", but the flea market is a huge pain to use since they never got around to improving it, so I rarely actually bother to list things.

I put those guidelines down, but honestly, anything in the spirit of variety is ok with me!

You're welcome to share the puppies here. On Discord, people have been talking about wanting a bit more variety publicly available, so that's what inspired me. If it's worth it to keep sharing them here only time will tell, but the more the merrier!

I'll likely make a monthly "remind" post to bring attention back to posts here if enough people are participating. :)
