I'm quite pleased with the Campaign updates. I play the rotating activities, so I am in Campaign for a few minutes for my 5 items or 5 explores and then I'm off to Cook or Mine or Hunt. I haven't run out of charges playing that way. I could see it being a bit harder for Seasonals, when I want to be in there killing 20 Goldsea enemies.

This is a very firm response to botting, and I enjoy that we're all being capped together (no bot can be any better than the rest of us) instead of a captcha. I played FR for years and still couldn't recognize some of those colorshifted and flipped dragon portraits. 😂

I know this is totally different than the previous method, but I like the thought of "maximized efficiency" that we can work towards in an idle way vs active play. This puts Campaign more in line with the other gameplay methods and I'm here for it.

Lorwolf is just better than most petsites i guess😂 you don't have to only grind campaign forever to advance there is a whole world to play with while you wait for campaign to refresh 💖

Are you only playing to infinitely roll WWs? If so, I think the new updates are actively incentivizing moving away from just gamble to win mechanics which is another of many steps in the right direction imo. But if you love the grindset, FR still definitely has it and so does PB so you might just be in the wrong place for your playstyle.

I've been playing LW for several years and I have quite the collection of items. While I've campaigned a lot, I've gotten way more stuff from doing my professions, buying from MM, and bonding with companions (which gives the exact same drops as Campaign). I craft and dress my wolves all the time and haven't run out of stuff.

I like that I don't have to grind on LW unless I'm trying for something specific (like gold bars or cooked shellfish or aerofins -- none of which are in Campaign). I understand the draw of WWs and G1s on these types of sites, but slowing their entry into the game may even increase their value over time. The 1:20 catch rate is already soooo high. And the KBs are flooding my inventory. KBs are even possible to get outside of Campaign (leveling via basidio/releasing), so this change has given us a "max speed" to grind campaign.

And yeah it sucks that this had to happen at all, botters sucks. They are the ones messing it up for the rest of us. This change means no botter can do better than the rest of us.

Coming in very quickly post-sleep to remind everyone to please continue to keep things civil before they spin out of control. I understand having negative or mixed feelings about the campaign update in particular. I found it very interesting at first myself, but after understanding it better and using it, I find it . . . disappointing and a little lackluster but am still excited about many of the other changes. Honestly, I'm just relieved that we're getting any updates at all, and that other areas of the site are currently getting some TLC before others are worked on.

Having such a prolonged silence was disheartening to many users, not to mention damaging to the site's reputation. It is going to take time and effort to win back the majority of the community and rebuild player trust, and players are allowed to air out their concerns and grievances--those lingering complaints and negative feelings aren't going to disappear for everyone overnight. It would obviously be best to keep feedback constructive, yes, as frustrating as impacted playstyles can be, but we also want to be careful that we aren't coming across as condescending to those who are disappointed since that obviously is only going to continue to foster negative feelings in an already struggling community.

That being said, if we want to see change, suggestions and feedback are definitely important, and people are welcome to have such discussions here or move them to Suggestions to be sure that they'll be seen since we know the staff are attempting to make a comeback. They may be firm on the new campaign system, or they may adjust it to find some sort of happy medium. Unfortunately, botters probably have ruined the old system for us, which is incredibly frustrating and hindering for people still attempting to grind and release, hunt WWs, or complete campaign achievements.

Who knows? Maybe they will abandon the new system and end up going with a captcha in the future? It all depends on testing, feedback, and whatever results they're seeing behind the scenes. So, for the time being, hang in there everyone. Please don't feel that you aren't welcome here anymore (and please do try to avoid insinuating people shouldn't play LW, regardless of intent; those kinds of comments rarely ever come across well).
