I'm on mobile so I'm not going to try and make this pretty but I really think something should be stated somewhere about the use of AI. A few of the users here have already been trying to sell AI creations(whether 'written' lore or 'art') for commissions or trying to pass it on as their own and it's disheartening. I know the rules state AI usage is against the rules for CA but I'd really like to see some sort of acknowledgement for what's accepted in general. Anyone who doesn't agree with AI should be made aware whether or not the site supports this kind of behavior so we know how whether to put more time and resources into it.

I hope any of that makes sense, but there's been a few spikes of AI usage(and some art tracing, but that's a different issue) happening and some acknowledgement or rules for the usage would really be appreciated before it gets out of hand.

This is a good idea - AI can be fun to play around with, but it ultimately hurts artists; especially if it's being sold as someone's own work.

One site I play has implemented a strict no AI policy (can't be bought, sold or even displayed anywhere on the site); but other sites have said it's okay to have it displayed (but not necessarily bought or sold) as long as you acknowledge it's AI (this does seem to align with how each site focuses on its art).

Without an official ruling, I forsee issues with someone selling AI art and a buyer being unhappy with it and wanting a mod to step in.

Edit to clarify: if they don't want to outright ban it, there should be (at minimum) a need to disclose if you are using AI generators to produce art/writing. I know how to spot it, so am unlikely to be suckered into paying for something that shouldn't be worth anything, but others might not and should understand what they are buying.

It would definitely be worth it to have an official stance, if only as a deterrent and potential for escalation if someone's found scamming folks (or, I suppose, as a warning flag to buyers on the site that everything is At Your Own Risk if they come out on the side of "ai art").

There have been problems on a lot of popular sites lately about people mass listing ai generated adoptables and then not tagging them appropriately until after they've been bought and money's exchanged hands and the like. If people decide they don't care and don't mind buying generative images I suppose that's their business, but nobody likes folks that lie about their skill set or tools. :P

Never a bad time to remind folks that Glaze exists as well, in the arms race to help keep your own images from winding up in a mass learning dump. Nothing's perfect, but they are definitely working to keep it up to date & free.

Support. I would love for it to be banned wholesale, but at the very least mandate full disclosure of AI in paid writing/visual art services.

I appreciate the input from those here so far! I would prefer it to be banned entirely and be given the ability to report those who try to sell it, but I do understand it's a personal preference and how I feel isn't the same for everyone else. If it IS allowed to stay, I would feel much better for there to be rules put in place to have AI 'creators' to disclose if they're using or not, ESPECIALLY for sales or things like the upcoming gift exchange. I'd be livid to be given AI generated content if I asked for art in any one of these wholesome community events simply because the site doesn't have official rules/statements on AI use.

Support for banning AI entirely, but, I'd also settle for a rule that it needs to be disclosed, at the very least.

Huge support in at least disclosing, with the preference of just banning the selling of AI art here.
