[flea market] remove the ability to sell currency

Specifically, just moonstones and pebbles. I feel this would create an easier to navigate experience with pebble and moonstone sales, and allow a newer user the chance to shop around.

Additionally, add a sub forum for those types of sales, so Trades isn’t overwhelmed with those topics.

Knucklebones and moonstone shards should be fine on the Flea market still, as both are needed for specific achievements, and quests.

Edit- Users would still be able to trade via DM in this manner.

Edit 2- I do think that the ability to sell either pebbles or moonstones at a time would open up the Fleamarket a little more and entire more users to participate. The ability to sell moonstones or pebbles at the same price ie, if you're selling a moonstone for ten pebbles, you can list ten pebbles for a moon stone, would also enable users to feel confident about buying from the fleamarket.

Additionally, In all other places that I personally play, the economy is healthier when the premium currency is traded on the forums. In any game that I've played that allowed premium currency for sale on their markets similar to the flea market, the price for premium currency always becomes unobtainable after a time. Think Neopets, Aywas, etc.

As of right now, there isn't a balance, since you can buy 28k pebbles for a moonstone, or sell a moonstone for nearly twice that. There aren't nearly enough users playing the game to be able to keep that kind of trade going long term.

Support! Other pet sites I play don't have this option. I think currency exchanges are best handled in the trade forums, and a sub forum would be a great idea. :)

No support.

I very rarely buy MS, it has to actually be like an emergency for me to do it or something I'm super impatient for. That said- when I DO want to buy I would like to be able to buy it instantly from the flea market instead of waiting around for a seller and trade thru DMs.

Editing to add- I think if someone started a trading forum for it it would be popular and helpful for most. I sometimes ask people who seem inactive to restock CAs etc and feel a need to buy them IMMEDATELY so I would always prefer to have an instant way to convert pebbles to MS

I’ll throw my support in. I feel as though the FM is more for a place of making money, and that will inherently drive up prices of our currency as people compete for profits. Especially buying low and selling high; it’s a great way to make money. I’m not knocking anyone who currently does this; it’s there for utilization and it works for profits. However, people who don’t really participate in the FM and don’t understand what’s happening, they’ll use the FM listings as a reference point. There’s also the problem of burning through pebble outlets pretty fast, but that’s another issue. I feel as though bringing currency exchange to the forums where people can talk about it directly with buyers and sellers, it’ll foster a healthier exchange rate everyone can be happy with.

No support for removing currency entirely from flea market. But support for making a new sub forum for people who don't like what's happening on fm and would rather trade amongst themselves. That way people who instantly want it for time sensitive things like wolves for sale on fm and etc. could still have the quick option. Best of both worlds.

Alternatively, I would also be okay if we couldn’t sell pebbles and moonstones at different rates, or at the same time. If you were selling a moonstone for 10 pebbles, then you can’t list 10 pebbles for more than a moonstone, or if selling pebbles, can’t sell moonstones at the same time.

As it stands now, I will never buy moonstones from the flea market or sell there because it’s difficult to navigate, and requires a lot of math for the best deal, which takes it beyond a game. I’ll just give the site more funds or wait.

Sorry, but no support. Currency rates should balance out over time as people compete to actually get their currencies sold (especially as more people join/if more ways to actually earn MS are implemented as they should be), also as a buyer, no math is really required as the FM already orders things with the best deals at the top. No one is forcing anyone to buy/sell through the FM, it's an option, just like making a forum post in item trading is. Personally, I definitely prefer being able to jump on FM and immediately buy what I need rather than wait on someone in forums who could take a day to a week to get back to you.

No support. The current way stays balanced because users keep control of the economy. Otherwise the only (consistent, non-painstaking 10 months for 1x CA) way to access MS is by paying real money to the site, which is unfair to those that can't afford it. The only alternative is the just as painstaking method of attempting to arrange a deal, waiting for someone to actually respond in a timely fashion, and the items you needed disappearing because of MM restocks or someone else bought it while you had to wait 12 days for User to respond to the trade.

No support. In the games I play where selling currency in the flea-market-esque functionality is not an option, it is actually a very common and popular suggestion to add it. It makes it so much easier that you don't have to navigate the forums, aren't dependent on timezones and such, and competition can flow more naturally.

I think a lot of the issues people are having actually stem from a disbalance in how easy/difficult the different currencies are to obtain and how desirable the sinks that use them are. Removing the option to more freely trade them isn't going to fix that issue, just hide it at best, or make it even worse due to an even slower moving market. The devs should focus on making pebbles more desirable, making moonstones more easily accessible, and the issues we're experiencing now (if they can really be called issues, as it really is just free market economics) should resolve themselves

Ofcourse moonstones are going to be more expensive than pebbles, as pebbles are way easier to get and don't see many popular uses, whereas moonstones are an absolute pain to obtain and have a lot of popular sinks to spend them on. Yeah the disparity is very large, between the buying and selling price, but removing one avenue of exchange is not taking away the cause of the disparity, and therefore will not fix it.

I too would be willing to sell my pebbles for a lower rate, simply because I have 80 million pebbles and I can easily make more. I wouldn't be willing to sell my moonstones at that same rate, because a. I don't have that many moonstones, and b. I don't have a reliable way of replenishing my moonstones once I sell them. These are the important factors that are causing the current prices and disparity between them. Not the avenues of exchange.
