Hall of Hunters
Exclusive to Monster Bounties is the Heroic Hunter achievement. Six synergies are selected and are called the monster's "weakness." If by chance someone's wolf and companion matches the selected synergies exactly, their wolf is determined to be the Heroic Hunter! If more than one wolf matches the monster’s weakness the FIRST wolf in posting order will be declared Heroic Hunter.
Below are wolves you have proved their worth and became Heroic Hunters! Clicking on the name of the Bounty will reveal the wolf's companion and a short description of their fight.
Feel free to post about the wolves in this thread!
XDragonfruitx - Margarita
Bounty: Rescue Mission
Bounty: Rescue Mission
The Consumed Enderling spreads its wings and slowly rises out of the pit, only to be met with Margarita's Volcanic Hydromancy. It roars in indignation as it swats the troublesome magic away. Little did it know that Margarita was only buying time for her Ignatus companion. The shrill cry of her Ignatus rings out as it crashes down like a comet upon the Enderling. At the last moment, the Enderling raises its head and unleashes a corrupting breath attack, but with the Ignatus's Abnormal Speed, it is able to nimbly dodge out of the way. The two collide with a bang and an eruption of fire. From the smoldering pit, Margarita's Ignatus swoops back to her side, ruffles its feathers, and chirps triumphantly.
XDragonfruitx - Sunset Sarsaparilla
Bounty: Dee Deep Trouble
Bounty: Dee Deep Trouble
The two descend into the mine with the Urskogg leading. Its long tongue laps the air to help track the location of its consumed prey. The two quickly arrive at the fight, and Sarsaparilla nods towards his companion. The Urskogg shakes its hide and snorts before descending into a tunnel of its own making. Sarsaparilla yawns and contentedly waits for his companion to get in position. They have done this trick before, and he is eager to show it off to his friends.
A few rocks tumble down behind the Consumed monster. Not out of the ordinary for this fight, but to Sarsaparilla, it is a signal. Sarsaparilla stretches and crouches down before letting out a low rumbling growl. Noticing, the nearby lorwolves separate, leaving a clear path straight towards the monster. With a roar, Sarsaparilla charges and leaps at his foe. Right before his claw makes contact with the monster, the wall behind it bursts forth as Sarsaparilla’s Urskogg charges through. Caught on both sides, the Consumed monster attempts to brace itself but to no avail. The crash was cataclysmic.
The ground quaked, dirt and debris fell overhead, and all were shrouded in dust. The lorwolves shook themselves and discovered it wasn’t over. The dust slowly cleared, revealing Sarsaparilla and his Urskogg beating the monster back and forth between them. Many of the onlookers watched in fascination, others in horror, and a few even placed their paws over the eyes of the younger lorwolves. With every mighty swipe of Sarsaparilla’s paw and thrust of the Urskogg’s horn, the ground beneath everyone began to crack. Tumbling back and forth between Sarsaparilla and his companion, the Consumed Rockbreak righted itself, let out a defiant bellow, and slammed its hooves hard into the ground. With a thundering crack, the cave floor crumbled apart, drawing everyone down.
The Lorwolve yipped and barked, checking to see if everyone was okay. Confirming that everyone is alright, they looked around and discovered that they are in a large cavern surrounded by consumed tendrils! They have chased consumed monsters off their land, hunted those that remain, and have done controlled burns on the consumed tendrils creeping out of Mistvale. Who would have thought that the consumed corruption could have spread this far deep into Darkspine and secretly underground, no less! Trapped by consumed tendrils deep in the bowels of a mine, the Lorwolves have only one option: win.
lalierre - Prancer
Bounty: It Came in like a Wrecking Ball!
Bounty: It Came in like a Wrecking Ball!
Prancer, aptly named, prances onto the battlefield, tail wagging high, her companion oddly out of sight. She jeers and barks at the Consumed Crystalapin, and it slowly rolls to a stop away from the party. It rocks back and forth, its attention fixed on Prancer. Prancer, carelessly hopping to the beat of her own drum, moves away from the lorwolf party and onto a frozen creek. Acting like she just suddenly realized she had the Consumed Crystalapin, she coyly drops her head down and tauntingly flaunts her tail at it. There is a rumbling coming from the nearby hillside, but neither of the combatants seems to pay it any mind.
The Consumed Crystalapin lurches forward before rolling with incredible speed at Prancer. Prancer keeps flaunting her tail before leaping out of the way at the last moment. The Crystalapin skids by, bounces off a tree, and rolls back towards Prancer. But again she artfully dodges, skipping across the ice with ease. The rumbling grows louder, and the other nearby lorwolves edge back away from the hill. Again and again the Crystalapin rolls straight at Prancer, yet she dodges effortlessly away.
The Crystalapin, growing more furious, skids to a stop away from Prancer, shrieks, and then bounces high into the air. Prancer lets out one last jeering bark before leaping out of the way. The Crystalapin crashes down, the ice cracking and buckling under the impact. The Crystalapin, momentarily trapped, splashes around in the shallow water beneath the ice, attempting to right itself. When suddenly, charging down from the nearby hill, followed by an avalanche of snow and debris, Prancer's companion, an Alpine Deer, arrives! With a thunderous boom, her Alpine Deer charges straight through the trapped Crystalapin. Before the Crystalapin could even recover from the blow, it is battered and crushed by the oncoming avalanche. Prancer shakes some snow off her fur before excitedly tackling her Alpine Deer and licking it for doing a good job.
Aurelia - Bodhi
Bounty: You Mess with the Horse...
Bounty: You Mess with the Horse...
Bodhi and Broch, not wanting to be left out of whatever is happening, rush to the scene! Bodhi quickly assesses the situation and runs to aid the other lupins. His Broch, on the other hand...well, we all know what they say about Brochs: "Small and very nimble, but they have an appetite to match a Moorbear!" Bodhi's Broch, discovering that they are in a mess hall, immediately disregards their own safety and begins to gorge themselves on as much food as they could!
What was once a battle of taking down the Consumed Teufel turned into a battle to keep the Teufel from stepping on the absent-minded. food-crazed Broch! Lorwolves pounced, wrestled, and were thrown by the Teufel, as somehow the Broch always managed to be chasing a tomato or some other round fruit between the Teufel's legs. The crowd was thoroughly enjoying this comical encounter; however, Bodhi was slightly embarrassed that their companion was causing so much trouble. Bodhi called out to his Broch in hopes of attracting it away from the danger.
Unfortunately, his call was ill-timed. The Broch, smiling with a mouth full of food, turned around while holding their favorite dish, a pristine Mika's Pudding that somehow survived the chaos in the mess hall. As the Broch waved excitedly towards the favorite food they found, the consumed Teufel hoof slammed down right on it! The pudding spattered across the floor and all over the Broch. Bodhi pushes past the other lorwolves to console his friend, but his Broch raises their paw, signaling for him to stop. There is an uneasy tension in the air; the crowd and even the Teufel grew quiet. Bodhi's Broch sniffed, and a single tear was wept.
A commonly forgotten fact about Brochs is that their incredibly high metabolism provides them with Abnormal Speed, and that the commonly docile creatures will hold incredible Grudges against anything that gets between them and their food.
Bodhi shivered and stepped back, for he knew that if Mika's Pudding wasn't for dinner, the Teufel sure would be! Noticing Bodhi's movement, all the other lorwolves step back as well. After wiping the pudding off their face, the Broch's body begins to quiver with rage. The Teufel gives a confused look to the lorwolves who shake their heads "no" and step further back. Hesitantly, the Teufel whinnies and stomps their hooves. Unfazed, the Broch undoes their handkerchief satchel, dropping numerous spices and cooking utensils. The Broch then takes their handkerchief and ties it around their head as a headband. Overconfidently, the Teufel rears up and stomps down on the Broch.
With sudden speed the Broch draws forth a butter knife and spreads butter on the ground before darting away. The Teufel slams down and immediately slips! Before it could regain its balance, the Broch sprints around and tosses union powder directly into its face! The Teufel, blinded and unable to stand on the buttered floor, whinnies and attempts to bite the Broch. However, the Broch is too fast. Instead of biting air, the Teufel gets all manners of fruits and vegetables stuffed down its throat! The Broch, its rage not yet sated, unleashes a plume of flour, salt, and pepper upon the Teufel. The Teufel, now blind, slipping, sliding, coughing, sputtering, and sneezing, tries to put up a fight but fails. What came next was all sorts of seasoning and meat tenderizing of the consumed Teufel at the hands of the apparently master chef Broch.
Huffing out of breath and ready to finish the Teufel steak he is preparing, the Broch withdraws his metal meat tenderizer. Bodhi, confident that this is going too far, steps forward to stop his friends. Fortunately, the tenderizer drops to the ground with a clank as the Broch locks eyes with an audience member in the crowd. The lorwolf, stuffing their face full of freshly popped buttered popcorn, looks around to see who the Broch is looking at. Bodhi's Broch licks their lips, and the popcorn-carrying, realizing they are the target, sprints away, as Bodhi's Broch chases after them! Bodhi just sighs with relief and shakes their head.
FloatinInSpace - Salvia
Bounty: The Last Hoof of Winter
Bounty: The Last Hoof of Winter
Salvia and her Snowloon sprint to the scene! She is a little anxious as she is relatively new to this whole fighting thing, but she's been working on honing her skills. She pauses as her anxiety spikes as she sees the field of battle, a massive herd of Alpine Deer stampeding across the landscape as fellow lorwolves and their companions try to direct the herd. Her spiraling panic is soothed as her Crested Snowloon hoots and nuzzles against her leg. Nodding to her companion, they descend down the hill to join the others.
At the bottom of the hill, Salvia meets up with the other lorwolves and their companions. They were all thoroughly exhaused from constant running and dodging through the herd. Fortunately, Salvia and her Snowloon are remarkably Energetic and should have no issue keeping up and dodging through the herd. She and her companion prepared to dive into the herd when she noticed how the other lorwolves were being so aggressive with the herd. If they would just relax and talk instead of barking at them, perhaps they could get the herds' help in finding the Consumed Deer. Being a Jocol, Salvia can produce a wide range of noises and can pleasantly engage in sing-song conversation rather than just talking. With a plan in mind, Salvia and her companion lunged into the herd.
Hooves, dirt, and sweat were what met them. The poor Alpine Deer were in a full-on panic. They attempted to flee from the Consumed Deer only to be barked at by a lorwolf to run elsewhere. Narrowly avoiding being stomped on, Salvia picked up the pace. Picking up her Snowloon by the scruff of their neck, she tossed them up and onto her head. Getting enough height and maintaining their balance, perhaps through their feline ancestry, her Snowloon's keen eyes scoured across the herd, searching for the slightest imperfection. Catching sight of a barely visible ominous green glow from a deer in the distance, Salvia's Snowloon begins to hoot and knead their paws. Salvia, following her Snowloon's directions, weaves through the herd and pounces toward the Consumed Deer!
The Consumed Deer noticing that it has been spotted, strikes a nearby Alpine Deer, stirring up the other deer in the area. Salvia skids to a stop to avoid pouncing on a panicked deer that leaps in front of her. The Consumed Deer tries to vanish within the herd, but Salvia won't give up that easily. She might not be as strong as the Direwolves, crafty as the Kit, or brave as the Lupin, but no other lorwolves are as creative and persuasive as the Jocol. Using the rhythmic thumping of hooves as her beat, Salvia began dropping bars so thick and heavy that her den-mama would be proud. The Alpine Deer in the area baffled and intrigued; slow down and come to a stop, entranced with her words. The Consumed Deer struggles to push past the listening crowd but is brought to heel as Salvia delivers a one-two punchline burn so hot about the deer's cowardice that all the other deer begin to laugh. Enraptured by the Jocol rhythmic flow, the herd dispersed, making a circle around Salvia, their Snowloon, and the Consumed monster. Stomping the yard, the deer rhythmically pounded the ground, oohing and awhing over the lyrical slaying that Salvia was unleashing.
Infuriated, the Consumed Deer charged Salvia. Understanding that the herd would only be still as long as Salvia's flow remains unbroken, her Snowloon intercepted the Consumed Deer and delivered a vicious Siphoning Strike. The Consumed Deer tried to stomp and impale the Snowloon, but its Energetic nature allowed it to keep dodging the visceral onslaught. The two quarreled relentlessly as more and more of the Alpine Deer herd slowed and came entranced with Salvia's words. Feathers and fur littered the ground from their fearsome fight. The two slowly circled each other, taking the opportunity to catch their breath. Salvia's Snowloon slows and comes to a stop in front of her. It crouches down and raises its back feathers in a corona, shrouding Salvia behind it. Salvia nearly misses a beat. She knows what her companion is doing; it's what they have been practicing, as she is still new to this fighting thing. Part of her was hoping her companion could do all the fighting, but her companion is right, as always. Motivated by her companions' fearsome fight and trust in her, Salvia prepares her technique for the beat drop. As if on cue, the Consumed Deer rears up and rushes forward with an impaling charge. At the last moment, her Snowloon drops their feathers and rolls aside, revealing Salvia mid maul. Calling upon the aura the Spiritwolves blessed the lorwolves with, Salvia manifests ephemeral black lotus petals around her as she delivers her strike, Blossom Maul. The Consumed Deer tries to dodge, but due to the momentum of their charge, they cannot. Black petals burst outwards in all directions as the Consumed monsters violently rebounds off the ground. The onyx shower of petals gently falls upon her and her Snowloon, healing and reinvigorating them. Re-energized, together they leap upon the dazed Consumed monster. The other lorwolves noticing that the monster is occupied and that the Alpine Deer are no longer stampeding, guide them away. Finally, separating the Consumed Deer from the rest of the Alpine Deer herd.

Bounty: Deadliest Catch
Bounty: Deadliest Catch
Shimmer seeing that this bounty was located in Murkwood was excited to accept it. Being a Direwolf, her kind was once hailed as Luana’s Warriors, but modern Direwolves have now spread out further than just their native home of Murkwood. Born in Darkspine and raised in Goldsea, she never got a chance to really see her kind's homeland. Excited for the adventure, she plucked up her Voltspike Zapscour and set off to Murkwood.
Shimmer crashed through the entangling Murkwood bog underbrush with her Voltspike Zapscour clinging on to her head for dear life. When they eventually arrive, Shimmer finds her fellow Direwolves limping and licking their wounds, and the consumed monster nowhere in sight. After conversing with them, she learns that the monster skulked off into the bog. Although it might seem the best strategy would be to wait for other lorwolves before fighting the monster, she figured the creature would just flee, making the fight tedious. Perhaps if she challenged it alone, maybe she could draw out the fight longer than the monster would like. She discussed her plan with a couple of older Direwolves and her Zapscour companion, who agreed and nestled itself firmly and safely in the fur on her head.
Prepared and excited for the fight, Shimmer trudged into the Murkwood bog, exposing herself for the consumed monsters' ambush. As expected, the Consumed Thrasher, thinking Shimmer was stuck in the bog, surged out of the muck to claw her. The bog was thick and heavy, but no match for Shimmer's strength; she easily pulled herself free and dodged the monster's attack. Leaping back into the fight with razor-sharp claws, she cleaved at the monster. The two relentlessly traded blows, neither getting the advantage over the other. The monster, growing frustrated with this prolonged fight, taps into its fel-consumed power and summons a shield of vines and tendrils. However, Shimmer easily pierces and tears asunder the shield with a mighty swipe, and two combatants again lock into combat.
The younger watching Direwolves itch to join the fight and move to enter, but the older Direwolves hold them back, informing them of Shimmer's plan. Begrudgingly, the younger Direwolves watch from a distance, engrossed in the fight and display of skill. However, soon they are startled by what seems to be a faint violet glow around Shimmer. All Direwolf pups growing up hear stories about the Luana’s Warriors of old. How when push comes to shove, Direwolves can call upon their roots and go into a battle frenzy. Power will course through them, buffing their already powerful abilities beyond their limits. However, after calling upon this power, a Direwolf will need to rest for several days. Knowing this, some of the Direwolves, fearing that Shimmer might be in this battle frenzy and may suddenly, at an ill time, collapse and be vulnerable to a lethal attack, move to join the fight. Once again, however, the others hold them back.
Shimmer and the Consumed Thrasher duel ferociously, and with every movement, Shimmer's glow grows even brighter. The watching and conversing Direwolves ponder that perhaps the glow is not from her battle frenzy but from her Aura. All lorwolves hear from their elders through myths and legends that before the Spiritwolves departed, they left behind their Aura in sacred shrines to protect Loria in their absence. Some of these stories even say that some lorwolves, with enough training and dedication, can even wield this Aura and become Aura Masters! Seeing what must be history in the making, the watching Direwolves begin to cheer for Shimmer, beating the ground with their mighty paws and howling for her victory.
Shimmer, breathing heavily and thoroughly exhausted from the long fight, narrowly dodges the monster's whipping tail. The Consumed Thrasher, seeing that its prey is finally slowing down, presses the attack. Shimmer's legs begin to tremble with fatigue, but she cannot give up yet. The Thrasher leaps towards her, with its maw open wide. She raises up on her back legs and catches the monster's jaws in her paws. The Thrasher presses down on her, but with a roar she pushes it off. However, it uses the momentum of her shove to whip around and swing its heavy tail at her. She moves to dodge back, but her strength finally fails her. With a bone-shattering crunch, the monster's tail smashes into Shimmer and sends her flying into an ancient tree in the distance.
Rather than slinking back into the bog, the monster gloats at its victory and descends upon the brilliantly glowing but helpless Shimmer. Seeing the sudden turning of events, the watching Direwolves rush to her aid but are too far away. The Thrasher, towering over Shimmer's limp body, raises one of its arms high above its head, closes its claws into a single spearing point, and drives it down onto Shimmer.
Shimmer, seeing double, helplessly watches the Consumed Thrasher menacingly approach her. She tries to move, but the wind was knocked out of her. She lets out a little laugh as she remembers that this was her first bounty and how foolish she was. Her attention focuses back on the present as her vision clears and she sees a tiny purple tail waving in front of her eyes. Remembering what needs to be done, she musters all the strength she has left as she watches the glinting, spearing claw of the Consumed Thrashed descend down upon her.
With a final burst of energy, Shimmer parries the blow away from her head and onto her shoulder and, with a defiant roar, rises up and headbutts the consumed monster. The monster stumbles back, briefly perplexed by Shimmer's remaining strength, and moves forward to finish her off but stops, noticing that she looks different. She is no longer glowing, and the weird purple splotch on her head is gone. The consumed monster looks down, noticing it's now glowing and that the splotch that was once on Shimmer's head is now on its chest, and that the splotch is moving and has two eyes and a pink tongue. Shimmer, wincing in pain from her shoulder, pulls herself just high enough to get out of the water and roars. Realising what is about to happen, the Consumed Thrasher tries to fling the splotch off, but it is too late.
The watching Direwolves desperately rush forward, but they are still too far. They pick up speed, seeing that Shimmer manged to avoid that lethal blow. But before they could get close enough to strike the Thrasher, the air suddenly grows still, and the hair on their backs goes up. The Consumed Thrasher, enveloped in crackling violet energy, flashes in blinding white light, every bone in its body illuminated in clear detail. A fraction of a second later, a thunderous concussive wave exploded in all directions, hurling dirt and debris and knocking back all who were close to the explosion.

MystiTheWolf - Pegasus
Bounty: Shelling Out for Help!
Bounty: Shelling Out for Help!
Pegasus and their River Kapura play beneath the starlight and the shadows of the great trees in Darkspine. They chase each other up and down the trees, their laughter echoing through the woods. Emerging from the shadows, Astra walks out with Topaz Quill hovering close behind her. Pegasus notices her arrival and remembers she is supposed to be studying True Names or something. She hurriedly opens her textbook, pretending she has been studying the whole time. Staring down at her book, she reads, "Names have power." Her eyes immediately glaze over. She has never had the attention span to read and has never really understood the point. She doesn't even understand what it means for names to have power. Everyone outside the Guiding Star Pack calls her Pegasus, while she has a secret "true name" known only to her companion and her pack. But that always feels more like a cultural tradition than anything else, she reflects. While lost in thought, her companion—who hadn't noticed Astra's arrival—playfully leaps at Pegasus. The two collapse into a fit of laughter. Astra shakes her head with a slight smile and nudges them apart. After their laughter dies down, Astra informs them that the stars have revealed a great danger approaching a settlement in Goldsea and that Pegasus is destined to be there to stop it. Pegasus tries to refuse, but with a firm tap on the nose, Astra silences her and informs her that the preparations for her journey are already complete. Resigned to her fate, yet excited to discover what the stars have in store, Pegasus gathers her belongings, dons her Ominous Masquerade regalia, and sets off for Goldsea with her Kapura companion.
A few moons pass as she journeys from Darkspine to Goldsea. Before long, she begins to see the devastation left behind by the Consumed Arturas. She grows increasingly nervous. From the trail of destruction alone, she can tell the creature must be enormous. Trusting in the stars, she continues onward, following the path of ruin. As she approaches, the ground shakes more and more. The sun sets, the moon emerges from behind the clouds, and as she crests one final hill, she finally sees it—a colossal Consumed Arturas. Packs of exhausted lorwolves trail behind the monster while several fresh packs harry it from all sides. Without wasting another moment, Pegasus and her Kapura sprint down the hill to join the battle. The ground quakes as the Consumed Arturas stomps left and right, fending off the circling lorwolves. Without missing a step, Pegasus glides across the shaking earth, rapidly closing the distance. Noticing her advance, the behemoth tilts its shell, sending a flood of toxic Consumed Water crashing down toward her. Moving with unnatural speed, Pegasus and her Kapura weave gracefully through the deadly rain. Slipping beneath the creature, she darts between its legs, searching for a weakness that might bring it down. Spotting a deep wound on its front left leg, she and her companion wheel around and charge. Only a stride away from the wound, they both leap. As Pegasus sails through the air, the fur along the back of her neck suddenly stands on end. Her danger sense screams and she glances upward. Instead of lifting its foot to stomp, the Consumed Arturas is dropping its entire body on top of them. With less than a heartbeat to spare, Pegasus kicks her companion clear from beneath the monster as the massive creature crashes down onto her.
The earth erupts as the monstrous behemoth slams into the ground. Dirt and debris explode outward while a dense cloud of dust obscures the creature. The circling lorwolves stumble before regaining their footing, pausing their assault as they wait for the dust to settle. The air hangs heavy with tension as Pegasus's Kapura slowly pulls itself free from the rubble. They shake their fur before looking back, and watch the massive creature rise once more, revealing Pegasus lying motionless at the center of a deep crater. The Kapura staggers back in shock, their heart pounding faster and faster. Tears stream down their face as they slowly approach. The surrounding lorwolves shout for them to stop, but their voices are drowned out by the frantic beating of their heart. Unaware of the tragedy behind it, the Consumed Arturas continues its slow march toward the Hidden Oasis. The Kapura gently nudges Pegasus. Nothing. They lift her paw and it falls limply back to the earth. The Kapura’s entire body begins to tremble. Their fur stands on end. Sensing something behind it, the monster slowly turns. With a heart-wrenching cry of grief and rage, Pegasus's Kapura enters a berserk state. In a blur of tooth, claw, and impossible speed, the Kapura launches itself at the behemoth. Caught completely off guard, the monster stumbles backward. All restraint and concern for self-preservation gone, the Kapura unleashes attack after attack. Hide, shell, wounds, claws—it doesn't matter. Every strike is delivered with desperate fury. Slowly, overwhelmed by the relentless assault, the Consumed Arturas retreats into its shell. Pegasus’s Kapura refuses to stop. They strike again and again as their body grows heavier with exhaustion. Their movements slow. Their bites weaken. Their claws grind down to bloody stubs. Yet they still fight. Sensing the Kapura's fading strength, the Consumed Arturas suddenly lashes out. Too exhausted to dodge, the Kapura is caught in its jaws. Enraged by the damage it has suffered, the behemoth whips its head, hurling the Kapura high into the night sky. With a huge lurch, the Consumed Arturas rears onto its hind legs, preparing one final, fatal strike. Suspended high above the battlefield, Pegasus's Kapura looks down, watching their doom slowly approach. Their heart trembles as they see Pegasus lying motionless far below—the companion, no, the friend they failed to protect. Gravity finally takes hold and as they slowly descend toward the waiting jaws of the Consumed Arturas, they whisper an apology to the star-filled sky. They speak Pegasus's true name.
Pegasus's eyes slowly flutter open. She isn't lying in a crater. Instead, she finds herself resting on a soft bed beside her father, Lotus. He closes a tome about the nature of True Names and chuckles as he scolds her for falling asleep during another lecture. Pegasus nuzzles against him and asks why she has to keep her true name secret. Returning the tome to a nearby shelf, he gently pets her and begins to explain the technical details, but her eyes immediately glaze over. Shaking his head, he cuts his explanation short and merely tells her that she can share it with those she trusts with her life. Satisfied with that answer she curls up to her father and asks what her name means. He kisses her and explains that her name means…
Deep within the crater, Pegasus's ear twitches. She hears a voice she knows all too well. She suddenly gasps, drawing in an agonizing breath. Pain crashes over her as the memories of what just happened return. She doesn't know why, but an overwhelming surge of urgency fills her. She staggers to her feet. Looking skyward, she sees her companion falling toward the open jaws of the Consumed Arturas. Ignoring every protest from her broken body, she moves. A crawl becomes a hobble. A hobble becomes a walk. A walk becomes a run. A run becomes a sprint. Then, as though death itself has released its grip, Pegasus explodes forward in a streak of violet light. With one final impossible leap...
Pegasus's Kapura squeezes their eyes shut as they plunge toward the monster's waiting maw. Suddenly, there is a powerful gust of wind, followed by an all-too-familiar tug at the scruff of their neck. Their eyes fly open. Pegasus has intercepted the Consumed Arturas's bite, wrenching them free from the jaws of death. With a mighty kick, Pegasus slams into the monster's head. The colossal beast staggers backward. Its enormous shell throws it off balance, pulling it heavily to the ground. Still carrying her exhausted Kapura safely by the scruff, Pegasus slides down the Consumed Arturas's belly and lands safely on the earth below. Overjoyed to see Pegasus alive, her companion immediately tackles her to the ground, smothering her face with grateful kisses.
